Over 50 restaurants in Minnesota have closed this year, with countless others hanging by a thread due to a myriad of unforeseeable hurdles, such as forced COVID-19 shutdowns and rioting in the Twin Cities. For restaurant owners Grant and Diane, this year has been incredibly difficult.
Their restaurant, Elba Tower House, has been described as a "landmark" in the community, due to it being established in 1873. The most recent shutdown by Governor Walz has put this restaurant, as well as many restaurants around the state, on the verge of closure. Watch this video to hear more of Grant and Diane's story.
